It is so frustrating growing up with two victims who constantly act as victims. Feels like my siblings and i were scapegoats to be punished rather than taught

Crucial Conversations is a great book, but I don't think its the kind of book I can just read and absorb normally. I have to practice it in the context of a role-playing discussion group. I can't find one of those. I tried to start my own in my neighborhood and no one was interested. I know CrucialLearning has workshops, but I don't think that would cut the mustard either. A 3 day workshop isn't gonna do it. I would need a discussion group that meets frequently and gives me a chance to practice these skills over a long period of time, preferably a group that meets perpetually, not 3 days. But no one in society wants to put in that kind of work. Look at this video. 12K views is not bad but only 3 comments. It's sad when compared to a single Flat Earth YT video that will draw tens of thousands of views and hundreds of comments. People want immediate results and instant gratification. It baffles me that thousands upon thousands of people will pay $5K each to go to a raunchy week-long Tony Robbins workshop while completely ignoring much better resources such as this book and the ecosystem that could be built around it if anyone cared.

I did the online training done by the very organization through my work. But the training unfortunately did not meet the expectation (exactly what you said about "a 3 day workshop isn't going to do it"). I think the more you practice to your day-to-day life would be the only way to integrate this skillset to your life.

Apparently Willow Creek does not believe the bible story of "Babel" in Genesis 11. If they did they would NEVER go "global". How a "church" can go so far from God that they embrace the very thing that He broke apart, is despicable!! I went there 1984-1997 and saw the demise from a descent church with a lot of REAL believers to an evil business empire. Really makes me sick to my stomach!!
